Creative & Nature Enrichment
Learning that lives in the hands, the heart, and the woods
Classes and sessions rooted in Waldorf philosophy — handwork, seasonal celebrations, nature skills, logic, and the art of paying close attention to the living world.
Why enrichment matters
Children learn best when their whole selves are engaged — their hands busy, their imaginations alive, their feet on real ground. These classes are designed to offer exactly that: the kind of learning that doesn't feel like learning, because it's woven into making, exploring, celebrating, and playing.
Whether your child is joining a small group or working with me one-on-one, every session is unhurried, screen-free, and shaped around what genuinely delights and challenges them.
What we explore together
Five areas of enrichment, each one rooted in wonder and real-world skill.
Handwork & Fiber Arts
Knitting, finger knitting, weaving, and simple sewing — taught with patience and joy. Handwork builds fine motor skills, concentration, and a deep sense of accomplishment. There is something quietly magical about watching a child realize they can make something beautiful with their own two hands.
Available for ages 5 and up. Group and private sessions offered.
Seasonal Waldorf Festivals
The year has a rhythm, and children feel it deeply. We mark the turning seasons with crafts, songs, stories, and simple celebrations drawn from the Waldorf tradition — Michaelmas, Martinmas, Advent, Candlemas, May Day, and more. These festivals give children a sense of belonging to something larger than themselves.
Offered as seasonal group gatherings. All ages welcome.
Nature Skills & Outdoor Education
Plant identification, bird watching, tracking, fire safety, knot tying, foraging basics, and the simple practice of sitting still and noticing. These sessions build real competence and confidence in the natural world — and a love for it that lasts a lifetime.
Held outdoors. Group and private sessions for ages 4 and up.
Logic Games & Puzzles
Chess, strategy games, tangrams, logic puzzles, and mathematical thinking games — taught in a playful, low-pressure way. These sessions sharpen reasoning, patience, and the ability to think several steps ahead, all while having genuine fun.
Group and private sessions for ages 6 and up.
Letterboxing & Nature Journaling
Letterboxing is a centuries-old treasure-hunting tradition that combines navigation, adventure, and rubber-stamp art. Paired with nature journaling — sketching, pressing leaves, recording observations — it teaches children to move through the world with curiosity and care.
Outdoor sessions. Group and private, ages 5 and up.
How sessions work
Group classes
Small, intentional groups of children working and exploring together. Group sessions foster friendship, cooperation, and the particular magic of shared discovery.
Private sessions
One-on-one time tailored entirely to your child's interests, pace, and readiness. Ideal for children who thrive with individual attention or want to go deeper into a particular skill.
All ages welcome
Classes are adapted for the child in front of me — from young children just beginning to the older child ready for real challenge and complexity.
