Denver Children’s Museum with Matthew & Adria

My brother, Matthew, and his fiancee Adria drove up from Dallas to hang out with us for a week. Mama and Ron still work throughout the week, but we decided to get out of the house and keep the boys amused. First on the list: the Denver Children's Museum!

I love this place! We visited last October when we were out here and the boys loved it. Actually, we had Rhino's first humongous melt-down as we were prying him away from the train room. We are still uncertain about our future, but it looks like we will be staying in Colorado for the year, and if we do, we will probably get an annual pass to this place. We could probably go here multiple times a week!

I'm not sure how amusing it would all be for older kids, but it is perfect for my toddlers. They play with bubbles, dress up as woodland creatures and crawl through trees and holes and make nests, learn about bugs and other things that live in the woods, build with wooden trains, paint, perform puppet shows, dress up and dance, learn about fire safety and explore a fire engine, have story time, shop/work/cook in a mini grocery story, pretend to be vets and perform imaginary procedures on stuffed animals … etc! Our favorite spot is probably the beautiful Center for the Young Child. Rhino likes to fish and Heron likes to garden. Raven and I spent time in the peaceful Nursing Gazebo. The whole museum is such a cute place and if Heron didn't nap, we could probably spend all day there! No, the museum doesn't pay me to sing their praises or anything like that. I just love it there. If you live nearby or are visiting and have young children, it is definitely a must-see!
