Misawa Parents and Me – Painting

One of the other playgroups we attend is the Misawa Parents and Me playgroup. We've done all sorts of fun things in the past, like taking a tour of the fire station, an Easter egg hunt, artwork with nature, and visits to the Japanese parks and indoor play areas. Yesterday it was very snowy so an indoor activity was perfect — painting!

Rhino really likes to paint, but Heron is sometimes not so sure about it. He spent half the time just watching the other kids then ate a red marker. Eventually he picked up some brushes and went to town on his paper!

Pretty much all the kids' papers ended up brownish, but they had a great time with it! There was another little girl there just about Heron's age that had the best time after she down the brushes and paper and just used her hands and face! It was a fun time and it's always nice to get out and meet up with other moms and their kids.

  • How cute! The playgroups you have are awesome!! I wish I could find places like that around here.

  • It is great to have things like this here! Being overseas is wonderful and there's a lot of neat stuff "outside the gate", but we miss some of the comforts of home. It's awesome when moms step up and organize get-togethers like this (they aren't run by the base, just mom volunteers.) It's an awesome way to make mom friends and for the boys to get some of their crazies out! ;-)
