Misawa Playgroup – Cooking with Kids
We juggle a lot of different play groups on base. It's nice to get out and for the boys to play with some other little ones. Sometimes it gets a little overwhelming because there are quite a few groups on base that meet multiple times each week, often during one of our two nap times. We don't get to go as much as I'd like, but we always have fun when we do get out to a group!
This morning we attended the "Misawa Playgroup" which was hosting a Pampered Chef Cooking with Kids show. We made an adult sized trifle with instant vanilla pudding, vanilla wafers, sliced strawberries and bananas, whipped cream and cinnamon sprinkles. Yum! Each of the kids received a little cup and the same ingredients to layer in their own personal trifle. Rhino sliced up his own banana, layered the cookies and fruit on top of the pudding, and I topped with some whipped cream and sprinkles. He loves to help cook and was so pleased with his little creation!

Heron munched on fruit while Rhino assembled his trifle and sat quietly, watching all the other kids in the room. He didn't feel like playing or even getting down from his chair. He ate his whole trifle (which I made for him) and half of Rhino's when Rhino decided to get up and play. What a pig! I had a great time cooking with the boys (and snacking! Yum!)

How fun!
