I had a photo session scheduled with a family at the beach. When I see beach portraits, they're always warm feeling, with kids running barefoot through the sand with rolled-up pant legs. Well, it's pretty chilly here so at first I was worried. But I was excited to try some different things at Miss Veedol Beach for this family!

I waited at the beach and the family never showed up. Apparently, there are two beaches out here that go by the same / similar names. That's one thing that stinks about being in a foreign country where the Americans make up nick names for places! There is a Miss Veedol Beach (the one I went to) and a Veedol Beach, but their names apparently are used interchangeably. I only knew of one and the family I was meeting only knew of the other, so we were both waiting on each other. Too bad! 

On the upside, I did have a nice morning by myself at the beach to explore a little bit (without straying too far from the parking lot, though!) It was a beautiful morning and it was nice to have a change of pace — quiet time to myself as well as photo subjects that aren't people! I'm not taking any more portraits until after the baby is born in the spring, but when I start back up, I look forward to heading back out to this beach with someone! (And hopefully, getting photos in for the family that I wasn't able to meet at the other Veedol Beach!)
