Almost a year ago I cast on for a cute knit snake that I found in a great book I have called Knitted Toys: 25 Fresh and Fabulous Designs. The snake is on the cover and I knew I had to make one! I put it down for ages just because I get knitting ADD and want to do a million projects at once. I wanted this snake to be for Heron and decided to give it to him next month for his first birthday, so I took a few days and whipped the rest of the snake out. I think it turned out super cute! I knit it flat, like the pattern calls for, but I think the next one I do will be in the round. I made it longer and modified the tail decreases. I know button eyes aren't a smart idea for a one year old, but I'll keep an eye on him when he's playing with it. I just think buttons are the cutest on handmade toys! Next up, a snake for Rhino in king snake or coral snake colors!
