Nicknames and Privacy
Until recently, I didn’t really care and have used my son’s name all the time. I have pictures of our family and stories about our day to day life available online. I know I don’t have a wide audience, mostly just a few family members and friends. I know that other people do stop by, or could stop by, and I don’t know how read what I write will be in the future. I thought for a while that I’d keep all things related to our children on TotSpot, but that’s not realistic (what else would I write about here?!) I know that any predator that really wanted to track us down probably could. I’m not really all that worried about creeps (maybe I should be?) Rhino is only 14 months now and I write all sorts of stories about him online that will be around for a while (and more to come, I’m sure!) I have no idea how he’ll feel about that when he’s older, if he’d want to have his identity known or friends able to Google him and hear about his childhood. So for now I want to keep with nicknames for our children when I write on here (I don’t really care so much about my name and Matt doesn’t care either, but at least no one can search for our son’s name specifically.) I’ve spent some time going through and replacing all the real names with “Rhino” and will have to come up with a cute, blog-worthy nickname for Boy #2. So if you know us (and at this point, I’m sure you do) I’d appreciate you not using Rhino’s real name in any comments (not that I get that many comments!) We’ll see how Rhino feels in the future, but for now it’s cute names!

A great idea, and I love the nickname!
