7.2M Earthquake
We definitely felt the earthquake here yesterday! Matt was at work and I was home with Rhino and we are all fine. We are on the first floor (I feel for all those living in the 9-story towers on base!) and all our things were shaking and the floor was swaying a ton for quite a while. We’d felt earthquakes in California and have felt a couple others since we’ve been here, but this was a bit heftier. It feels weird to walk around on swaying, not-so-solid ground. It was in the prefecture just south of us, so it was quite a ways away and everyone up here is okay.

Wow! How scary!!! I’m glad you are alright. I’ve only ever felt the one that happened her in California about 3.5 years ago. That was my first quake experience and although it was quite minimal I was still pretty shook up about it! lol. Anyways, glad you’re all doing ok.
I know what you mean! My first quake experience was in ’04 and it was a 6.0 in SLO (maybe the one you’re talking about?) I was in the dorms and terrified and was thinking “I think I need to get in the bathtub with the mattress over me!” Well, I couldn’t lug the mattress quickly enough, so I just jumped in the bathtub and cowered! I was such a spazz about it! Matt was upstairs in his dorm just annoyed that his book was swaying too much for him to read easily. Lol! I’m thinking it’s just something we’re going to get used to here. When this one hit I ran over to Ryan and held tightly, but he didn’t notice a thing, of course!
