Everything went well today (and … yesterday?) The flight down to LAX was a breeze – Rhino never even woke up. Then we waited 6 hours at LAX. I knew the flight over here would be long, but it was really REALLY long! Rhino did fine with his ears — he ate going up and coming down and didn’t have a problem. About 5 hours in, he did get a bit fussy and it was a little frustrating. He slept a lot, too. We’re a little disoriented and embarrassed for not understanding anything people are saying to us! I wish we had studied some of the language before we left. We got to the hotel just fine, though, and had dinner just a bit ago. It’s a little after 8pm right now, but we’ve been up for over 24 hours and are pretty exhausted. The flight to Misawa is at 5:30 tomorrow out of Hanaeda. We will be leaving the hotel for Narita (the airport we came into) at 11, then taking the hour-ish bus ride to Hanaeda and will be waiting around there for a while. So that’s our plan! We’ll be at the base by this time tomorrow, which will be really nice. We can finally de-stress then!
